Dr. William Calhoun Purr, 66, for more than 40 years a pharmacist here, died yesterday in Garfield Hospital after a week’s illness. Born near Aldie, Va., he attended Capt. McCormick's School at Middleburg, Va., and then went to Columbian University, now George Washington University, where he was graduated in pharmacy. His last drug store was at Second and E streets N.E. He was a member of the Veteran Pharmacists' Association and the National Retail Druggist’s Association. He made his home at 4513 Brandywine street N.W. Besides his wife, Mrs. Martha E. Furr, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Frank L. Baer; a son, William Dallas Furr, all of this city, and a sister, Mrs. Irvin Leith, Aldie, Va. Funeral services will be held at noon tomorrow in Chambers funeral home and burial will be in the family plot in a cemetery at Middleburg, Va.
