Death
BRIDGEPORT -- Lloyd Rymer Furr, 89, of the Meadows at Maplewood, and formerly of Wiseman Street, Bridgeport, died on June 8, 2001 at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg. He was born August 15, 1911 in Glenville, the son of the late William and Lavena Hite Furr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Hinkle Furr, in 1999. He was the last surviving member of his family. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Brooks, Ferris, and Clayton Furr, and six sisters, Blanche Summers, Belle Rhoads, Flo Hammond, Madge Garrett, Hallie Conrad and Ruth Evans. He retired as a manager of operations from Hope Gas Company. He was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, and was a past president of the Bridgeport Lions Club, a member of the Late Lodge No. 63 A.F.& A.M. and was a former member of the Fairmont Rotary Club. Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, today from 5- 8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven E. Dorsey officiating. The interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen Funeral Home.Clarksburg Exponent Telegram, June 10, 2001
