Death
Douglas Furr, Sr. of Culpeper, VA passed away peacefully with family by his side at Reston Hospital Center on December 23, 2023. Doug was preceded in death by his daughter Melanie Furr, his parents, Howard and Mary Furr, and his brother Wayne Furr. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon Furr (Culpeper, VA); his son Eddie Furr (Culpeper, VA); his daughter Ashley Quinn (Jonesborough, TN); and his granddaughter Kerri Quinn (Pensacola, FL). He is also survived by a large host of siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins that he loved very much. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that everyone just pay it forward and perform an act of kindness for someone else as Doug would often do for others. Per Doug's wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the ICU staff at Reston Hospital Center for their incredible kindness and compassion towards Doug and his whole family when it was needed the most.The Free Lance-Star, Fredericksburg, Virginia, January 4, 2024
