Eli FURR
(February 20, 1850 - June 26, 1936)
Family Bible states year of birth as 1860. However, it also states year of death as 1936, age 86. This would mean that he was born in 1850. Augusta Co. 1860 census lists an Eli Furr, age 10. I believe this to be the same person.
This Bible was owned by my grandfather, Ira E. Furr of Staunton, Augusta County, Va. The publishing info for the Bible is as follows:

This Bible was in a fire in September 1990. The cover and binding are in a fragile state, but the pages are only yellowed and easily legible. The text that follows is taken exactly (as to the best of my ability) from the written family records, including any discrepancies in dates and spelling. I have researched most of the info and know most of it to be accurate, but make no claims as to its complete accuracy. Of note, the entries in the Bible are made in only two different handwritings, and given the date on the Bible, much of this info must have been entered years after some of the people lived and died. Also, I will not include any dates for people that may still be living.
