Death
Charles Eugene Furr died Wednesday morning May 30, 1990, in King's Daughters' Hospital. He was born January 10, 1927, at Fishersville. He was educated at Robert E. Lee High School and attended Bridgewater College and received a Master's Degree from the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University. Mr. Furr's early career was in banking for 17 years and in real estate for 20 years. He was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Julia Spitzer Furr; three children, Richard Carr Furr, Blacksburg; Charles Bradford Furr, Monterey; and Elizabeth Wellington Furr Glenn, Staunton; two grandchildren; two brothers, James N. Furr and R. Wyatt Furr, both of Lynchburg. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Thornrose Cemetery conducted by Dr. John H. J. Vernon.
