Death
Virginia R. "Ginny" White, 78, of Galion, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehab, Galion after a long illness. Ginny was born in Marion on August 5, 1938 to the late Grover and Goldie (Furr) White. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Galion. Ginny retired as a cashier from the former Ames Department Store in Mansfield and had also worked at Goodwill. She was a former member of the Golden Age Center in Galion. Ginny was proud of her son, always going out of her way to provide for the two of them and making sure all their needs were met. She is survived by her son, Gregory Thatcher and his fiance, Audrea Weikle, Galion, and her two granddaughters, Emma and Sophie Thatcher. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Jack White, Grover White, Jean Trachsel, Lewis White, Elsie Lormor and Tom White. Friends may call Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 4-7 pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion with Pastor Joe Stafford officiating. Entombment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum, Galion. Memorial contributions may be made to the OSU Medical Center for Vascular Research in care of the funeral home.
