Death
Lawrence R. Furr, 85, Veedersburg, died 8:45 p.m. Sunday in St. Vincent's Hospital, Williamsport. Mr. Furr retired from Fountain Foundry in 1982. His memberships included Sterling Christian Church and American Legion Post 288, both at Veedersburg. He served in World War II in the Army. He was born March 1, 1918, in Fountain County, to Raymond and Alina Reed Furr. He married Wreatha L. Hickey on Jan. 25, 1942, at Veedersburg. She died in 2000. Survivors include a son, Larry, Hayes, Va.; a brother, Robert E., Noblesville; a sister, Margaret Jenks, Veedersburg; and one grandchild. Two sisters are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Dickerson Funeral Home, 303 N. Main St., Veedersburg, with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with military graveside rites. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
