Joan Kelley, 79, of Richmond, VA, formerly of Bastrop, LA, died Thursday, June 9, 2011. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed arts and crafts and traveling. Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Kelley; her daughter, Michelle Kelley; two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her son, Michael D. Kelley and wife Judy of Richmond; a brother, Elwood Sumner and wife Wilma of Tulsa, OK; two grandchildren, David M. Kelley and Shawn W. Kelley of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop with Rev. Jim Ingram officiating and burial following at the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers were to be pallbearers Jim Bonsall, Larry Fryday, Charlie Peterson, Neal DeForest, Charles Carroll and Charles Moore.
