Fred Elonzo Emory

Mr. Fred E. Emory, 89, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at his residence in Hamburg. Mr. Emory was a native of Hamburg and a resident of Hector for many years before moving back to Hamburg in 1987. He was a retired forester for the U.S. Forest Service. He was an U. S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamburg and a former member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hector. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Cheek Emory and his parents, Oscar & Mayme Shockley Emory.
He is survived by a brother, Bobby Emory of Hamburg; a sister, Beatrice Locke of Crossett and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, July 6, in the First Baptist Church in Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Rev. Klois Hargis officiating. Pallbearers were Richie & Freddie Emory, Brian Rabb, Sam Zieman, Richard Smith, Ronnie LaGrone & Henry Bierbaum. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Carl Locke Sunday School Class. Interment followed services at 4 p.m, Friday, July 6, in the Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville with Rev. David Carpenter officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 352, Hamburg, AR 71646.
