I am a son of Richard Strahan Esq who left home at Timolin near Athy some 50 years ago and settled in Victoria Australia from which country I enlisted along with three other brothers Arthur who was killed at Fleurbay last July, after winning the Military Cross, Will who is Chaplin in the 16th Battallion A.I.F., and Robert who is attached to the 57th battallion A.I.F. I am attached to H.Q. 2nd Infantry brigade A.I.F.. If you receive this safely I shall be delighted to hear from you also from any other relations who may care to write . I am hoping for my leave and when it comes hope to visit Dublin and the birthplace of my father . I am sincerely yours 4608 Pte Ed Strahan." | |  | |
