News Pub (ind)4 Nov 1935The Argus reported: "Mr. Frank Strahan Born in Ireland in 1886, Mr. Frank Strahan, C.B.E., was educated at the University of Melbourne, where he read for the degrees of arts and law. He was secretary of the British, Australian, and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition, and is a governing director of Amalgamated Wireless (A/Asia) Ltd. Having acted as assistant secretary of the Prime Minister's Department several times when Mr. P. E. Deane, who was then assistant secretary, accompanied Mr. Hughes, and later Mr. Bruce, on missions overseas, Mr. Strahan was appointed permanently as assistant secretary when Mr. Deane became secretary, in 1921"
