NOTE: I believe this is the immigration record of my grandfather, Louis Pappas (Ilias Papagiannakos) based on the following: (1) his daughters, Bertha and Catherine, said that he left Greece because he did not want to be drafted, and he was 15 years old, and he came under the name Kosta Kolocotta; (2) In the Petition for Naturalization of his wife, Angelina Eftaxias Pappas (Papagiannakos), she stated that her husband arrived in 1901. The age on the following passenger list states age 17. Louis has 3 different birth dates and years: if we subtract 15 from 1901, his birth year would be 1886, which is slightly off the birth year of 1887 which he gave in his World War II Draft Registration. If we subtract 17 from 1901, his birth year would be 1884.

We have never found a passenger ship manifest for Louis. His daughter, Catherine Pappas Kostakos, said he came into the country using the alias of Kolocotta; another story is that he "jumped ship."
