Birth	Abt 1743	(the most likely christening geographically is 18 May 1743 in St Nicholas, Arundel, father Thomas, a soldier, & mother Hannah, but we have nothing to prove this. I have a problem with a soldier being the grandfather of 3 boys who all were in trades to do with woodwork, namely cabinet making, carpentry and coopering. The other possibility is 15 Apr 1747 in Balcombe, father William, mother probably Ann Osborne, on the basis that this William's brother was Nathaniel & a Nathaniel was marrying & having children in Angmering about the same time as our William. But I can find no record of the occupation of father William - Sussex, England, Great Britain
