Martha Jeannette "Jennie" Hayes
(14 Mar 1841 - 23 Jan 1864)
Jeannette Hayes was artistically inclined. At an early age, she painted in oils a view of Brattleboro, VT. for her sister who was then living in Sioux City, IA. The painting is owned by the Hayes Presidential and was on display in the Hayes residence in 2006. An oil portrait of Jeannette Hayes was made by the artist George P. A. Healy and it is also at the Hayes Presidential Center.
