Death
A. Clarence Furr, 62, well known farmer of the Stanfield, route 1, section, was found dead in bed Saturday morning by members of his family. He was believed to have died early after retiring on Friday night. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rance Furr of this county. Final rites were held Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Ridgecrest Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev, L. F. Cowan. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, the former Miss Dallie Almond: two daughters, Mrs. E. T. Smith of Charlotte, and Mrs. C. J. Whitley of Stanfield, route 1; one son, Adam Furr of Marion, Kansas; two brothers, Bud and Adam of Albemarle; one sister, Mrs. Vina Thomas of Albemarle, and seven grandchildren.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, September 06, 1949
