Death
Funeral services for Ellis Edward Furr, 67, were held Saturday in First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Beavers, pastor, officiating, assisted by Glenn Bridges, retired Baptist minister of Henrietta. He died Wednesday in Fort Worth. Born in Padgitt, Janurary 7, 1915, Furr was married to Juanita Hankins in Olney in 1941. He was graduated from Texas A&M University in 1937, served in the Air Force during World War II, and became involved fulltime in his 4-Bar ranch west of Newcastle in 1949. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Elese Moody of Graham; a son, David Adam Furr of Newcastle; one sister, Adele Robinson of Olney; one brother, Grover Furr of Megargel; and four grandchildren. Burial was under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.The Olney (Texas) Enterprise, December 2, 1982
