Death
KANNAPOLIS -- Marvin Aycoth, 84, 518 Locust St., died Wednesday (July 16, 2003) at Northeast Medical Center, Concord, after seven months of declining health. Born April 14, 1919, in Union County, Mr. Aycoth, a son of the late Edward Sylvester and Julia Emma Moser Aycoth, was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. He retired in 1983 from Cannon Mills Plant 4 weave room. His wife, Dorothy Lee Aycoth, died Feb. 2, 200l. He was also preceded in death by daughters Mary Ellen Aycoth and Barbara Ann Winburn and a granddaughter. Survivors include daughter Brenda Kay Colver, Salisbury; brother Leroy Aycoth, Polkton; sisters Lillian Aycoth, Lexington, Mildred Mobley, Concord, Darsie Brown, Salisbury, and Erlene Pate and Jo Green, both of Harrisburg; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Faith Freewill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. James Pauley. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial at Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Locust Street.Endnotes
