COLUMBIA — Memorial service for Col. Marshall William Furr, US Air Force (Ret), 56, of 35 Northlake Rd., will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends 6-8 tonight at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross. Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, is in charge. Col. Furr died Tuesday, April 18, 2000. Born in Charleston, he was the son of the late Harold Ellsworth and Carrie Bernice Bailey Furr. He was a retired Col. with the U.S. Air Force and was employed with Physicians Practice Services, Inc. of Columbia. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Cecile Hart Furr; son and daughter-in-law, William Bradley and Christine Yandle Furr of Winston Salem, N.C.; daughter, Stacy Lynn Furr of Columbia; sister, Hermione Furr Carter of Columbia.The State, Columbia, South Carolina, April 19, 2000
