MT. PLEASANT Mrs. Janice Fisher Carpenter, 60, of Ridgecrest Road, Locust, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at CMC-Northeast. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sunday, June 26, at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, 555 Neisler Road, Concord, officiated by Rev. Roger Bostic. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The Carpenter family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service, at the church. Mrs. Carpenter was born Jan. 13, 1951, in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Grady Lee Fisher and Rachel Marie Blackwelder Fisher. She was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Becky Morton and Betty Rose Harris, and a brother, Eugene Fisher. She is survived by her husband, Calvin Carpenter; her sons, Allen Carpenter and Billy Carpenter; her daughter, Rebecca Furr; her brothers, David and Dennis Fisher; a sister, Diane Van-over; 14 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant is serving the Carpenter family.
