Death
MONROE, Jan. 7 — Mrs. Inez Howie, 49, wife of J. Hoyte Howie of Monroe, died this morning in a Charlotte hospital after an illness of several months. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Brice Howie, Robert Howie, and Henry Howie, all of Monroe, five daughters, Elizabeth Howie, Helen Howie, Lou Ell Howie; Tilda Mae Howie, and Marjorie Furr Howie, all of Monroe; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Furr of Monroe; five brothers, Fulton Furr of Union county, Sloan Furr of Atlanta, Ga., Lewis Furr of Charlotte, Bruce Furr, and Herman Furr, both of Sunbury, Pa, and three daughters, Mrs. Wendell Sams of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Charles J. Freemen of Charlotte, and Mrs. Vernon Hartsell of Monroe. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home. Burial will be in the Monroe cemetery.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, January 18, 1938
