Death
FORT LAWN – Mrs. Glennie Maurcine Furr Adams, 80, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018. She was born May 30, 1938, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Codell Furr and Glenis Sizemore Furr. She was the wife of the late Keith Hinson Adams. Mrs. Adams loved reading, history, shopping at thrift stores and cooking her favorite collard greens, fatback and cornbread. She also loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Adams was of the Southern Baptist faith. Mrs. Adams is survived by a son, Carson Adams and his wife, Angie, of Fort Lawn; three daughters, Kay Knight of Fort Lawn, Jeannie Burch and her husband, Mike, of Lancaster, and Faye Brown and her husband, Lamar, of Clover; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Paulette Mercando of Newark, Del., Shirley Bighman of Great Falls, and Linda Smith of Vinton, Va.; and a daughter-in-law, Becky Adams of Fort Lawn. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Hinson Adams; and a son, Charles Keith Adams. The celebration of life funeral service for Mrs. Adams is 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, in the chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, officiated by the Rev. Beth Drennan. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m., one hour prior to service, on Friday, Dec. 28, at Burgess Funeral Home, and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 901 W. Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Lancaster, and her sister and caregiver, Paulette Mercado.
