FORT LAWN – Mr. Keith Hinson Adams, 90, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at Lancaster Convalescent Center. He was born May 19, 1927, a son of the late Claude Lavander Adams and Connie Faye Hinson Adams. He is the husband of Glennie Furr Adams. Mr. Adams retired from Morrison Textiles as a welder. He was Valedictorian of his Buford High School class of 1943 and was a Korean and World War II veteran. Mr. Adams loved gardening and was known for having the best tomatoes. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR. Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were his favorite TV shows. He was a wonderful dad and granddad and will be missed greatly. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Glennie Furr Adams; a son, Carson Adams and his wife, Angie, of Fort Lawn; three daughters, Kay Knight of Fort Lawn, Jeannie Burch and her husband, Michael, of Lancaster and Faye Brown and her husband, Lamar, of Clover; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wendell Adams of Lancaster; two sisters, Claudia Baskins of Heath Springs and Jerri Haynes of Belmont, N.C.; and a daughter-in-law, Becky Adams of Fort Lawn. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Keith Adams; and four sisters, Irmalene Gastfriend, Bettie Robertson, Ruth Love and Janice Carnes. The celebration of life service for Mr. Adams will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in the chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by the Rev. Beth Drennan. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Lancaster County Council on Aging, Alzheimer's Dept., PO Box 1296, Lancaster, SC 29721.
