Death
Clara Lucille (McGuirt) Morgan Furr, 94, of 206 Union St., Stanfield, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at her home. Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, with a 30-minute state at Indian Hill Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Bruce Lee and The Rev. Rick Brundin officiated with interment in Indian Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Stanfield.The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Hartsell Funeral Home-Midland. At other times the family met at the home.Born Oct. 30, 1914, in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Minnie (McGuirt) Furr and was manager of West Stanly Trading Post, Stanfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hilbert Furr. She is survived by three sons, JW Morgan, LD Morgan and Lee Ollen Morgan, all of Stanfield; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is in charge.Stanly News And Press, January 21, 2009
