Death

James “Jimmy” N. Furr, III, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon followed by a committal service at Lakewood Memorial Park. Jimmy was a person of few words but had a kind, gentle heart. He described himself many years ago as just a “simple man”. He loved spending time in the woods with his dog, Duchess and son, Josh and he was always helping his mom and dad with anything they needed done around the house. He especially adored his grandson, Ryder. He is preceded in death by his son, James “Jamie” Furr, IV; paternal grandparents, James N. Furr, Sr. and Christine Furr; and maternal grandparents, Robert E. Robinson and Ruth Robinson Smith. Jimmy is survived by his parents, James “Sonny” Furr, Jr. and Bobbye R. Furr; son, Joshua C. Furr; grandson, Ryder K. Furr; sister, Lisa Furr Boleware (Eddie) and their children, Blake and Amanda Boleware. He is also survived by his canine companion, Duchess and numerous extended family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital at www.umc.edu.
