Death
CONCORD — Glenn Tillman Furr, 82, of 128 Lucky Drive, died Tuesday, July 17, 1990, at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 pm Thursday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Concord, conducted by Dr. David Morrow and the Rev. Darrell Coble. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home in Concord from 7 to 9 tonight. Memorials may be made to McGill Avenue Baptist Church, 202 McGill Ave, Concord, NC 28025, or to the American Cancer Society, 26 Ardsley Ave, Concord, NC 28025. Born Nov 25, 1907, in Concord, Furr was a son of the late Jacob M. and Dolly Winecoff Furr. He was a retired bookkeeper from Cannon Mills and a member of McGill Avenue Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during World War II. His wife, Mildred Hagler Furr,died in 1983. Survivors include a son, Dr.William Furr of Raleigh; two daughters, Peggy Honeycutt of Kannapolis and Linda McDowell of Blacksburg, SC, two brothers, Brian T. Furr of Landis and Claude C. Furr of Salisbury: seven grandchildren, and three great-grand-children.Endnotes
