Death
Shirley Furr Rycroft, 52, 227 Field Circle, Hudson, died Saturday in Rutherfordton Convalescence Center after a period of declining health. She was born Aug. 22, 1931, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of Glenn T. Furr and the late Mildred Hagler Furr. She was a motel manager for Eastern Federal Corp. of Charlotte. Surviving, in addition to her father, are a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Patricia) Hudson of Hickory, with whom she made her home; two sisters, Peggy Honeycutt and Linda Knear of Concord; a brother, Dr. William Furr of Raleigh; and two grandchildren. The Rev. Roger Lee conducted the funeral today in the chapel of Bass-Smith Funeral Home. Burial was in Brookford Cemetery.Hickory Daily Record, Hickory, North Carolina, December 27, 1983
