Death

Mrs Helen Furr Culp, 79, of Rt 7, Salisbury, died at 6 p.m. Monday at Rowan Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 3 pm in Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell. Officiating at the rites will be the Rev. Don Lyerly, pastor of Rockwell Christian Church where Mrs. Culp held her membership. The family will be at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell, tonight from 7 to 8:30 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockwell Christian Church building fund. Born Dec. 3, 1896, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Culp was a daughter of the late Jacob M. and Dolly Winecoff Furr. She was educated in the Cabarrus County schools and was a former teacher in the Cabarrus schools. Survivors include her husband, Charles Gray Culp, whom she married Aug. 29, 1918; one son, James Edward Culp of Salisbury; two daughters, Mrs. Sue McCombs and Mrs. Lewis (Charlsye) Waddell of Salisbury; three brothers, Glenn and Claude Furr of Concord and Bryan Furr of Landis, a sister, Mrs Anna F. Thompson of Concord, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
