Death

Zeb Furr Jr., 83, was called home on Saturday, December 5, 2015 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in McKinney, Texas on December 2, 1932 to Zeb and Beatrice Furr. He was a graduate of Three Rivers High School Class of 1950 and attended the University of Texas on a football scholarship and served in Korea during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and guns. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, JoAn Booth; and his first wife, Mary Louise Furr. Zeb is survived by his wife Doris A. Furr of Freer, Texas; three daughters, Roxanne (Jim) Pyles of Lake Jackson, Texas; Kathleen (Johnny) Carrales of Freeport, Texas; Cindy Arnold Baker of Freer, Texas; two sons, Brian Furr of New York, NY; Charles "Scooter" Arnold of Alice, Texas; one sister, Freda Sawyer (Edgar) of Pleasanton, Texas; one brother, Berry Bridges (Jo) of Pleasanton, Texas; one brother-in-law, Ronnie Booth of Three Rivers, Texas; six grandchildren, Amy and Ron Carrales, Michael and Marc Baker, Cheryl and Cody Arnold; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Garza Funeral Home Chapel in Freer, Texas with Brother Mike Herrington officiating. Military Graveside Services and Interment will follow at 4 p.m. at the Three Rivers Cemetery.
