Death

Bea Furr, 97, died Monday, July 21, 2003. Visitation will be today (Wednesday) from 5 to 9 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers, and the funeral service will be held at that location on Thursday at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery. Mrs. Furr and her husband, Zeb Furr, married in 1929, and moved to Live Oak County where she spent the rest of her life. In 1965, she founded Bea Furr Bookkeeping along with the H&R Block franchise for Live Oak and McMullen counties. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters and daughter-in-law Mary Louise Furr. Survivors include a brother, W.A. Johnson; a sister, Lois Fern Reece; her children, Zeb and wife Doris Furr, Jo-An and husband Ronnie Booth, Freda and husband Edgar Sawyer, and Barry and wife Jo Bridges; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
