ALBEMARLE — William Lee Furr, 86, of Route 1, Brevard Drive, died 1:15 a.m. today at Stanly Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lefler Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Albemarle by the Rev. Tim Roach. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday night from 7 to 9. Born Jan 23, 1896, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late R. N. and Sarah McCurdy Mann Furr. He was retired co-owner of F&M Coffee Company in Albemarle, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of the Jim Harris Bible Class. His wife, Annie Eudy Furr, died in October of 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Thomas E. Dixon of Albemarle, a brother Robert M. Furr of Dunn, five sisters, Mrs. Ben F. Smith, Mrs. J. E. Gantt, Mrs. John R. Johnson, Mrs. Robert H. Morgan and Mrs. Colon L. Mauldin, all of Albemarle, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Endnotes
