ALBEMARLE — Blanche Furr Johnson, 81, of 1112 W Main St, died at 3 am Saturday at Stanly Memorial Hospital after an illness of one week. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Monday at Main Street United Methodist Church with the Rev Billy Rintz officiating. Burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will be at Hartsell Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight and at the home of a sister, Mrs JE (Cora) Gantt of 1418 Hickory Ave, the remainder of the time. Born Sept 15, 1905, in Stanly County, a daughter of the late Robert Nelson and Sarah McCurdy Mann Furr, she was retired as co-owner and bookkeeper of F&M Coffee Co. She was a lifetime member of Main Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Her husband, John Ross Johnson, preceded her in death. Survivors, in addition to a sister, include a brother, Robert M Furr of Dunn, three other sisters, Emma Smith, Ruby Morgan and Mildred Mauldin, all of Albemarle, and a number of nieces and nephews.
