Death

Faye Furr Williams -- Mrs. Williams, of Indian Trail, formally of Charlotte, went to be with her Lord early Monday morning, September 29, 2008. Faye, a native Charlottean, was born September 17, 1930. She was a strong-willed person who 'fought a good fight--' battling severe health issues to the end. When she made Christ her Lord and Savior, her focus in life remarkably changed. Her church, Central Church of God, became an excitement and she looked forward to every opportunity to attend. 'Aunt Faye' had a great sense of humor and those who knew her loved her wit. She was a loving wife, caring mother and proud 'Maw Maw'. Mrs. Williams' immediate family includes her husband, Walter S. Williams of Indian Trail; her children, Vickie Guthmann and her husband, Richard, of Weddington, Tari Williams and his wife, Joyce, of Davie, FL, and Suwannee Awad of Tamaric, Fl; a sister, Nancy Wilson and her husband, David, of Mint Hill; her brother, Jim Furr and his wife, Betty, of Mt. Holly; three grandchildren, Ashley Gordon and her husband, Myles, of Weddington, Holly Norton and her husband, Bryan, and Jonathan Guthmann and his wife, Megan, all of Charlotte; six Grand Darlings: Sydney, Emary, Lilly, Ella, Eve, and Landry. Family graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 2, 2008, at Sunset Memory Gardens 8901 Lawyers Rd, Charlotte, NC 28227, followed by a Funeral Service of Celebration and Remembrance beginning at 2:00 PM at Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277. The family will gather in the narthex following the service to greet friends. The Williams family is in the care of Gaskin Services, Matthews.
