Death
Mable Downey Moore, 68, of J-44 Limestone Courts, died Friday, Nov. 17, 1989 in the Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Ella McKinney Furr, She was a member of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Downey of Gaffney, Joe Parker and Shayne Parker both of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Linda George of Gaffney; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday in the Shuford-Hatcher Chapel conducted by the Rev. Herman Thomas. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-8 Saturday night in Shuford- Hatcher Funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeff George, Scott Downey, Richard Gordon, Brian Jones, Billy Chris Downey, and Dean McKinney.
