Death

Nell Elizabeth Furr Safrit, 84, of Morehead City, formerly of Concord, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City. Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Concord with Pastor Mark Erickson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. In her earlier years, Nell was employed by Shuford’s Insurance Co. of Concord. She then enjoyed the rest of her life as a homemaker. She was a loving mother and a caretaker of her husband in his later years. She is survived by her son, Glenn W. Safrit Jr. and his wife, Shelley of Morehead City; two grandsons, Samuel and Jesse Safrit of Morehead City; brother, James Furr of Concord. She was preceded in death by her father, Brevard Aaron Furr; her mother, Meta Olivia Furr; husband, Glenn White Safrit; and two brothers, Bob Furr and Alan Furr. Visitation will be at one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers are welcome or donations may be sent to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 St. Johns Church Road, Concord, N.C. 28025. Arrangements are by Noe Funeral Service Inc. of Beaufort.
