Death
Mr. Hal Leroy Furr, 72, of Route 1, Box 131, died Monday in Norfolk General Hospital. He was born in Albemarle, N.C., and retired from the Suffolk City Schools after 27 years of teaching. He was a member of Parkers United Methodist Church and a member of New Bern Scottish Rites. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice James Furr. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Parkers United Methodist Church by the Rev. Murry DeHart. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Gates County Rescue Squad or Parkers United Methodist Church.Daily Press, Newport News, Virginia, January 27, 1988
