Death

KANNAPOLIS — John Leroy Furr, 75, of 2406 South Cannon Blvd., died at 2 a.m. today at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health for nine months aod seriously ill for one week. Born June 20, 1892, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late John Luther Furr and Dewell Love Furr. He had lived in Kannapolis for the past 40 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and belonged to the Woodmen of the World. He retired from Cannon Mill Plant No. in 1959. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church by the Rev. Herman Duncan. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Concord. The body will remain at Whitley's Funeral Home until Tuesday at 4 p.m. when it will be taken to the home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma McClannon; one son, Hal Furr of Sunbury; one sister, Mrs. Wren Barbee of Charlotte.
