Death

Mrs. Sue Howell Furr, 82, of Salisbury and formerly of Faith, died unexpectedly today at 5 20 am in JoLene’s Nursing Home. She had been in declining health for the past several years. The funeral will be 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Lyerly Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. J. C. Huneycutt, pastor of Faith Baptist Church. Burial will be in Brookhill Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 7 to 9 o'clock and the remainder of the time at the home of a son, Charles A. Furr of Rt 10 Salisbury. Born June 2, 1897, in Cabarrus County, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late Archie and Elizabeth Joyner Howell. She was educated in the Cabarrus County schools and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Her husband, Carl A. Furr died on April 12, 1976. Survivors include one other son Dr A Keith Furr of Blacksburg, Va., two daughters, Mrs. Helen Mize of Charlotte and Mrs. Mildred Flora of Driftwood Cove, Salisbury, one brother, Car) Howell of Concord Three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Propst, Mrs. Sally Spong and Mrs. Atha Callaway, all of Concord, 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
