CONCORD John Willie (Bill) Furr age 84 of 15 Oakland Ave., SE., Concord, N.C. died Wednesday, November 8, 2000 at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 11, 2000 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at Concord with Rev. Michael Kurtz officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Concord, NC. Visitation is 9:30 AM-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Mr. Furr was born March 22, 1916; son of the late Ethel Bost Furr and Paul McDonald Furr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; served in the World War II; was owner & operator of Kerr St Gocery and a member of Ann Street United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jean Cochrane Furr of Concord; sons, David Furr & wife Janet of Fuquay-Varina, NC, John Furr & wife Susan of Concord, NC; daughter, Marilyn Wise & husband Don of Chapen, SC; sisters, Ruby Barnhardt, Mable Faulk, both of Concord, NC; brothers, Paul Furr, Ray Furr, both of Concord, NC; and 6 grandchildren. The family will be at the home at 14 Oakland Ave., SE, Concord, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus Co., PO Box 1235, Concord, NC 28025 or Christian Ministry, 246 Country Club Dr., Concord, Nc 28025.
