Death

CONCORD - Mrs. Janice C. Furr, 79, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center, Northeast. Janice was born Sept. 11, 1934 in Cabarrus County to the late Clyde and Mary Whitley Corzine. She was a compassionate, loving woman who enjoyed her family. In addition to her dedication to family, she was an intellect and avid reader. She served as salutatorian of her graduating class at Concord High School. She was passionate in her work with children as a teacher assistant in Cabarrus County for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Furr; daughter, Jacque Barrow; and son, Stephen Furr. Janice is survived by her children, Kathy Wilson and husband David of Concord, Debbie Sides of Kannapolis, Eddie Furr and wife Judy of Mt. Pleasant, Randy Furr and wife Sherry of Rockwell, Janette Phelps and husband Dwight of Mebane and Annette Richards and husband Bill of King George, Va.; daughter-in-law, Susan Furr of Midland; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will hold a private memorial service in the near future at Salisbury National Cemetery.
