Private services were held Tuesday for Clyde Edward Furr 69, of Rockwell/ who died Sunday (Nov. 14,1999) at the W.G. Hefner Salisbury VA Medical Center. Burial was in the Salisbury National Cemetery. Born Feb. 28,1930 in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Homer Clyde and Viola Smith Furr. A supervisor at Fieldcrest-Cannon, Plant 6, he was a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Concord, and was a U. S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Janice Corzine Furr, whom he married Sept. 23,1951; sons Stephen Douglas Furr/ Midland, Clyde Edward Furr Jr., Mt. Pleasant, and William Randolph "Randy" Furr, Rockwell; daughters Kathy Wilson, Concord, Deborah Sides, Loris, S.C., Annis Jeannette Phelps, Mebane, Janice Annette Copeland, Dahlgren, Va. and Jacque Lanette Barrow, Salisbury; brother Robert Furr/ Mt. Pleasant; sisters Peggy Helms and Mildred Lowder, both of Concord; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorials: W.G.
