CONCORD -- Walter Luther Furr, 82, a retired city engineer, died Friday. Funeral is 3 p.m. Sunday at the Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Survivors are wife, Evelyn; sons, Quint E. Furr of Silver Spring, Md., Walter L. Furr Jr.; daughters, Mrs. E. Graham Battle of Lake Norman, Mrs. C.B. Garris of Albermarle, brothers, J.E. Furr of Wilmington, D.M. Furr of Asheville, C.M.
