Death

Mrs. Blanche Furr Mason, 93, of 521 Short Street passed away at her home on November 1, 2007, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 03, at Westford United Methodist Church where Mrs. Mason was a life long member, with the Rev. Jeff Rushing and Mary Beth Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, 1 to 2 p.m. at Westford United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mason was born June 28, 1914 in Cabarrus County to the late Jonah and Daisy Furr. Before her retirement in 1966 she worked for Cannon Mills for 38 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years Robert "Rob" Mason who passed away August, 8th, 2007. Mrs. Mason is survived by her son, Earl Mason; a loving and special friend of Mrs. Mason Birdean Burress; sisters Hilda Beaver, Helen Furr, brother K.C. Furr; four grand children; Rick Mason, Scott Mason, Greg Mason and Lori Pinion; nine great grand children and one great, great grandchild. Thanks to a caring and dedicated caregiver Sis Key,and all the caregivers, nurses of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083 and Westford United Methodist Church building fund. Wilkinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
