Death

CONCORD - Mr. Robert Alexander "Rob" Mason, 93, of 521 Short St., passed away at his home Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Westford United Methodist Church where Mr. Mason was a lifelong member, with the Rev. Jeff Rushing and Mary Beth Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at Westford United Methodist Church. Mr. Mason was born April 23, 1914, in Cabarrus County, to the late George and Daisy Blackwelder Mason. Before his retirement in 1966, he worked for Cannon Mills 38 years. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Blanche Furr Mason; son, Earl Mason; brother, James Ray Mason; four grandchildren, Rick Mason, Scott Mason, Greg Mason and Lori Pinion; along with nine great-grandchildren; and a great- great-grandchild; and Birdean Burress, a loving and special friend on the family.
