Death
John Henry Furr, 66-year-old farmer, died at his home on Stanfield, route 2, Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock after a long period of ill health. Funeral rites were conducted Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Love's Grove Methodist church, with Rev. Lee Hartsell officiating, and burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Furr, well-known in his community, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roe Furr of this county. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Mary Burris, four daughters and four sons, these being: Mrs. Effie Withers, Kannapolis; Mrs. Rettie Austin and Mrs. Lizzie Osborne of Stanfield, route 2; Miss Audie Furr of the home; Lewis Furr of Oakboro; Ralph, of Concord; Roy and Robert Furr of Stanfield.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, October 19, 1943
