Death

FAITH - David Lynn Morton (Doby), 49, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. He was born Dec. 17, 1959 in Alamance County, NC, the son of the late Rev. Bobby Lynn Morton and Flora Mae Furr Morton. He was employed with Perdue Farms, Concord, for nine and a half years. He enjoyed participating in sports of racing and wrestling. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, David Andrew Morton, who died Aug. 24, 2000. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, officiated by the Rev. Robert Earnhardt. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Shirley Hollins Morton; one daughter, Janice Terry and husband, Kevin of Rockwell; six grandchildren; five brothers; and one sister.
