Martin Luther EFIRD

(10 Mar 1833 - 20 Jan 1923)

He was a farmer. On February 28, 1862, he volunteered as a sergeant in the Confederate Army and was in Company C, 42nd North Carolina Regiment. On October 1, 1863, he was promoted to first lieutenant. He never received wound during the war, but was a prisoner at the time of General Lee's surrender.
