DANVILLE, Va. - Frankie Silas Furr, 46, of 315 Overby St., died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Danville Regional Medical Center after two months of declining health and a four-day stay in the hospital. Born Oct. 6, 1953, in Danville, he was a son of the late Robert Henry Furr and Elizabeth Reynolds Furr, who survives. On Sept. 16, 1973, he was married to Teresia Ann Jackson Furr, who survives. He lived all of his life in Pittsylvania County and Danville. He was employed by Marshall Concrete Products where he was a truck driver with 23 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. He also served with the United States Navy. In addition to his wife of the residence and mother of Ringgold, survivors include one son, Charles Robert Furr of Danville; one brother, Richard Henry Furr of Ringgold; two sisters, Sandra F. Hoover of Providence, N.C. and Patricia F. McCain of Pelham, N.C.; and one grandchild. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Rev. Steve Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens with military honors American Legion Post 1097 Honor Guard. The family received friends Wednesday evening, and will be at the residence.
