Death

OAKBORO — Wayne R. Furr, 50, of Route 1, died Aug. 15, 1988, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Big Lick Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Larry Linker. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle tonight from 7 to 9. Born July 20, 1938, in Stanfield, he was a son of Rufus and Emma Hunneycutt Furr of Route 1. A sales manager for, Prudential Insurance Co., he was a member of Big Lick Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Drye Furr, a son, Rodney Furr of Oakboro; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Furr of the home, two brothers, George and John Furr, both of Oakboro, four sisters, Billie Kelbaugh, Maxine Creed, Peggy Teeter and Nancy Benfield, all of Charlotte; and one granddaughter.
