Death
Albemarle. — Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Jane Furr, 75, were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Canton Baptist Church, near here, with Rev. C. B. Reid, a former pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Furr, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Treece of Stanly County, died of a heart attack at her home on Edgemont Street late Tuesday following a serious illness of several days. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Athie Holt, Mrs. Carrie Kesler and Mrs. Jessie Bost; a son, George C. Furr, all of Albemarle; a brother, P. P. Treece of Norward; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Morton of Stanly County and Mrs. Cathie Burris of Landis.The News and Observer, Raleigh, North Carolina, March 6, 1941
