Death
HOLLANDALE — Sidney Guy Furr, 91, died Saturday at Care Inn Nursing Home in Rollingfork. Services are 1 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home chapel in Hollandale with burial in Hollandale. Furr, a retired oil distributor in Hollandale, was a native of Patterson. He was the son of the late William P. and Ellen Jones Furr. He attended Beach Grove schools prior to moving to the Delta in 1912. He had made his home at Ritchie and Hollandale and was a longtime associate of Pan Am Oil Co. of Hollandale. A World War I veteran, Furr was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Cook Furr of New Orleans; Mrs. Louise F. Summerall of Cary; sister, Mrs. Eunice Jones of Richmond, Va.; brothers, Dewey Furr of Delta City and Hugh G. Furr of Arcola; and three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Endnotes
